Planning For Stormy Weathers During Golfing
So, you are finally on your ideal golf vacation. You have planned for months, and you are just now hitting the first golf ball with all of your friends on a beautiful golf course. All of a sudden, you feel a sprinkle on your head. Disbelieving, hoping a bird relieved himself above you instead of the alternative, you look up. You are horrified to discover that the sky is completely cloudy and more raindrops are on the way.
If you have golfed extensively in your life, I am sure you have experienced this exact scenario. After all, there are few golfers who have never experienced a bit of nasty weather. I am sure you know that it is an absolutely horrible feeling when the first raindrops begin to fall. There are fewer things that can ruin a golf vacation more than a rainy day.
Once you are back to the hotel room and safely dry with all of your friends, you turn on the TV as everyone gathers around to see the weather report. You discover that a storm has moved in and it will be raining for at least the rest of the week. All of a sudden, your entire vacation is shot and you will not be able to do any golfing. It truly is terrible.
There are a few options for you if you are in this situation. First of all, it isn’t too incredible terrible to do some wet golfing. Just be sure to bring a nice pair of rubber boots along and a rain coat. As long as it isn’t so rainy that you can’t see, you should be able to successfully navigate the course. I recommend using this solution if you spent large amounts of money to get to the resort and onto the course. You would not want that money to go to waste just because of a little moisture!
If you don’t think you can play in the rain, you might want to just cut your losses and head home. If you can get a partial refund on the hotel reservation, the only thing you will have lost is a bit of time. Getting back to the comfort of your home can sometimes be preferable to sitting in a hotel room all day waiting for the rain to let up. It is just a matter of deciding whether you think you will be able to hit the course again.
